Flying Start Teacher Incentives

Support the future of early learning - Flying Start Incentives

The Flying Start Early Childhood Teacher Incentives program is offering generous financial incentives for eligible early childhood teachers taking up roles in Flying Start partner services delivering a 3-year-old preschool program. Payments are made directly to teachers who apply and meet all eligibility criteria. Partner services do not receive these payments.

There are 2 types of incentives:

  • Individual Incentives ($10,000): For teachers returning to the SA sector after 12+ months, or relocating from interstate or overseas, who take up a role with any partner service.
  • Location Incentives ($10,000–$50,000): For roles in pre-approved regional, remote, or hard-to-staff locations. Graduates are welcome to apply.

Flying Start partner services play a vital role in promoting and supporting these incentives. You can include approved incentive messaging in your recruitment materials and help candidates understand their eligibility and application process.

It is recommended that the Information for Employers be read in conjunction with the OECD Policy and Funding Guide for 2026 delivery and the Flying Start Early Childhood Teacher Incentives – Guidelines 2025-26.

A summary of teacher incentives is available on the Information for Employers flyer.

Your Local Team member is available to assist with eligibility checks, referrals, and pre-approval.
