Description

Healing Relational Trauma through Play will support you to extend your thinking in relation to play to engage and support children affected by relational trauma. This program also encourages you to share this information with parents and carers to be able to build on the experiences within the home. The program explores practical ideas that can be incorporated into program planning but can also be implemented immediately. Expected outcomes for this program are:
  • being interested and supportive of a child's play which helps them to feel connected, valued and accepted
  • helping children to be connected to family, community and culture which is very important and can easily be done through play experiences
  • providing safe, stimulating and repetitive play experiences that are supporting the rewiring of the brain
  • helping children to find meaning in their play which will promote a positive self-image which in turn promotes hope
