South Australia's Preschool Infrastructure Strategy
The Preschool Infrastructure Strategy is designed to support the growth of the state’s early childhood sector that is needed for the 3-year-old preschool roll-out. It details how the government is working with the sector to deliver new and expanded early childhood infrastructure where it’s needed, so all children can access 2 years of preschool by 2032.
Key actions of the strategy include:
- the Office for Early Childhood Development, as system steward, sharing estimates of where new preschool capacity is needed, available on the Market Information Summary page
- establishing a grants program for not-for-profit providers that co-invests in infrastructure projects in areas requiring additional preschool capacity
- expanding government preschools where needed, and readying services to welcome 3-year-olds; and
- establishing 20 Integrated Hubs.
