Description

Goodstart Early Learning Allied Health Coaching is delivered by highly skilled and experienced Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and/or Child and Family Practitioners. The professional is connected to the Centre through consultation, and is based on availability, location, preference for online or face to face support, and identified learning and support needs within the Centre. Allied Health Professionals facilitate the identification of Key Practices that enable Educators to strengthen relational and emotional connection between children and Educators, promote a communication rich environment, adapt environmental setup, use of resources, and planned learning experiences to promote the inclusion, engagement, and participation of a diverse cohort of preschool aged children.

To support implementation as Early Childhood Educators identify specific, practical strategies that are clearly connected to AEDC developmental domains. Educators are supported to implement the agreed practices on and off the floor, critically reflect, evaluate effectiveness, and share observations and questions with the Allied Health Practitioner over the course of the coaching cycle.

How this is delivered

Allied Health Coaching is delivered either weekly or fortnightly for 2 or 3 hours and can be on and off the floor in-centre or online depending on centre staffing and practitioner location.
