Description
By implementing an evidence-based approach to speech and language, this program aims to:
- develop age-appropriate speech and language skills
- develop children’s social communication skills, with a focus on skills essential for cooperative play, friendship development, and effective communication of thoughts, needs and emotions
- develop early literacy skills essential for success in preschool settings and beyond and
- implement a play-based, neurodivergent-affirming approach in developing these skills.
Expected outcomes of this support include:
- Improved language and communication skills, with a focus on social communication.
- Improved use and understanding of verbal and non-verbal communication with peers.
- Improved interest in literacy engagement and development of early literacy skills.
- Improved articulation of speech (speech sounds production).
