Description

Fly2Health Allied Health School and Early Childhood Support Program

Fly2Health delivers accessible, high-quality Speech Pathology (SP) and Occupational Therapy (OT) services to children in metro Adelaide, regional, rural and remote communities across SA. Our program supports early childhood services and schools to improve developmental, behavioural and functional outcomes through a flexible, integrated model of care. We have the same clinician going to the same locations to ensure consistency.

Our clinicians travel directly into communities via our efficient transportation network, removing common barriers to access and ensuring consistent, reliable service delivery where it is needed most. We work collaboratively with educators, families and support teams to embed practical strategies into everyday learning environments.

The program focuses on early identification, targeted intervention and capacity building for staff, with services tailored to the specific needs of each service and cohort. Fly2Health clinicians provide a combination of direct therapy, classroom-based support, and educator upskilling to create sustainable impact.

How this is delivered

Fly2health's occupational therapy and speech therapy supports are delivered flexibly to meet the needs of individual ECEC services. Support is provided through a combination of:
  • On-site visits by a qualified occupational therapist or speech pathologist, including direct observation of children in their natural environment, educator coaching, and modelling of evidence-based strategies
  • Group professional development sessions for educators, delivered on-site or online, focusing on early identification of developmental concerns and practical strategies for the classroom
  • Written resources and visual supports tailored to the child and setting, available for ongoing reference by educators and families
  • Follow-up support via phone or telehealth to monitor progress, answer questions, and adjust strategies as needed

Services are available both in-person and via telehealth, ensuring accessibility for ECEC services across metropolitan, regional, and remote areas. Fly2health works collaboratively with educators, families, and other professionals to ensure a consistent, whole-of-setting approach that embeds strategies into everyday routines and environments.
