Description
Through engaging, play-based music activities, children learn to recognise, understand, and respond to their own emotions, while building self-regulation, empathy, and positive peer interactions. Sessions are led by a Registered Music Therapist and include practical strategies that you can embed into everyday routines.
Educators participate alongside children, gaining confidence, hands-on experience, and easy-to-use tools to make emotional learning part of daily practice. Families can also be included, extending these strategies into the home for consistent, supported development.
This support strengthens emotional maturity, encourages social competence, and helps create a calm, connected, and inclusive learning environment, all through the natural motivation and joy of music.

How this is delivered
Children actively participate in structured, music-based activities designed to develop emotional awareness, self-regulation, and social competence. Educators observe, join in, and model strategies, gaining practical tools to embed music-based approaches into daily routines like circle time, transitions, and calming moments.
Led by a Registered Music Therapist, sessions integrate evidence-informed strategies aligned with AEDC domains, particularly Emotional Maturity and Social Competence.
Ongoing support can include written session plans, song resources, step-by-step activity guides, and optional follow-up consultations to adapt strategies to your group’s needs. This ensures children’s learning is reinforced, and educators feel confident applying music-based strategies beyond the sessions.
By embedding music into everyday routines, children develop emotional literacy and social skills in a motivating, playful medium, while educators and families gain practical strategies to strengthen these skills across home and preschool environments.
