Description

The Circle of Security Classroom (COSC) program is designed to enhance your abilities to form secure relationships and offers critical organising principles from attachment theory to improve your confidence and competence in relationship building. This, in turn, fosters strong secure educator-student relationships, and ultimately, student learning. Expected outcomes for this program are:
  • understanding of emotional development in early childhood
  • ability to understand and regulate their own emotions
  • ability to model and teach emotional regulation strategies
  • ability to manage emotional conflicts.

How this is delivered

The program is delivered online or in-person and designed as 8 x 2-hour sessions (or combinations to create 16 hours). The frequency can be adapted to site requirements including weekly, monthly or term. Between each session, reflective tasks are provided to assist with the application of concepts. The content is discussion and video based with a focus on building your capacity for reflection to ensure secure attachment relationships with children.

The program is delivered to a group for $2,600. If the program is delivered in-person, travel will be charged at $100 per hour (where the round trip is up to 20km), $100 per 1.5-hours (where the round trip is up to 40km) and $100 for 3-hours (where the round trip is up to 70km).
