Description

Lively Eaters Feeding Therapists (Speech Pathologists) offer group sessions, workshops, and ongoing support for educators and families, with a focus on developing eating and drinking skills and establishing clear mealtime expectations. Feeding challenges may indicate developmental delays, nutritional gaps, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing differences, or emerging developmental disorders. Therapists aim to equip educators and families with information and practical tools to support early intervention, fostering a positive mealtime environment, reducing mealtime stress, increasing children’s intake, and enhancing learning capacity through supported nutrition and hunger regulation promoting physical wellbeing, social, emotional, behavioural, and communication outcomes.

Supports can be tailored to each service however may include:
  • Let’s Talk about Mealtimes – information and strategies
  • Applying Oral Eating and Drinking Care Plans within your centre
  • Food Allergies – identification, food modification, and supporting children with allergies
  • Touch and Taste group sessions – hands-on sensory-rich experiences
  • Parent education sessions – strategies for implementation in the home


  • Increased understanding of feeding development and responsive mealtime practices
  • Enhanced capacity to support children with feeding difficulties, promoting independence and inclusion
  • Positive, consistent mealtime routines that reduce stress and support emotional regulation
  • Development of healthy eating habits, participation in routines, and overall wellbeing

How this is delivered

Our therapists do not use a ‘one size fits all’ approach. We tailor our services to meet the needs of educators, children, and families. Supports can be delivered through in-person or online presentations, child-based Touch and Taste group activities, or parent workshops. We work collaboratively with your service to personalise our approach based on your requirements.

Cost

Our sessions are charged at $350 per hour, per therapist (plus GST). Travel and accommodation are not included and will be determined based on requirements. We welcome discussions to tailor our services to your budget and goals.

About the organisation

Lively Eaters Feeding Therapy supports families experiencing feeding and mealtime challenges across Australia. Our therapists develop safe, functional eating and drinking skills for children from birth to 18 years. We work with breast and bottle feeding, transition to solids, tube feeding and weaning, selective eating, oral motor difficulties, dysphagia, growth and nutrition concerns, allergies, and sensory feeding differences, building confidence, participation, and sustainable skills.
