Description

At Neurospa Psychology, qualified psychologists deliver evidence-informed social-emotional support to children in the two years before school within early childhood education and care (ECEC) settings. Using a collaborative model, we embed psychology-informed strategies into everyday preschool routines to build emotional regulation, social competence and school readiness. Our approach is grounded in social-emotional learning research, developmental psychology and attachment theory, and is strengths-based, inclusive and culturally responsive.

We work across three levels of support:
  • Children: Structured, play-based small-group sessions building emotional awareness, self-regulation, empathy, cooperation and friendship skills
  • Educators: Professional learning and coaching to embed social-emotional strategies into everyday play-based routines
  • Families: Practical guidance to support children's emotional regulation and social development at home

The program is available as both a Tier 1 universal intervention for all children within the service and a Tier 2 targeted intervention for identified groups, delivered in-person within the preschool environment, with some components available online. Flexible and collaborative, the program integrates smoothly into each service's daily rhythm and goals.

Expected outcomes include:
  • Improved emotional regulation and resilience in children
  • Improved educator capability to embed social-emotional learning into everyday routines
  • Improved social competence, empathy and positive peer relationships
  • Improved family understanding of early emotional development and strategies to support children at home

How this is delivered

The support is delivered in-person, online or via a hybrid approach, depending on the needs of the service. Support is provided through collaboration with educators via structured professional learning and consultation, embedding social-emotional strategies into everyday preschool routines to ensure sustained outcomes. Available components include child group sessions, educator coaching, parent information sessions and implementation support, reinforcing children's emotional and social skill development across preschool and home environments.

Cost

All services are delivered by registered psychologists at $390 per hour. Planning, reporting and resource development are also billed at $390 per hour. Travel is charged at $390 per hour for delivery beyond 1km of the Neurospa base location. Online delivery is available to minimise travel costs where appropriate. Bundled packages are available and can be tailored to suit the specific goals and needs of each service.
