Description

The physiotherapist can provide educator or parent coaching in gross motor skills development, encouraging active play and recognising movement difficulties. The physiotherapist can provide educator or parent coaching in optimising positioning and postural support for effective participation in play and learning activities. The physiotherapist can provide educator or parent coaching in supporting the development of motor planning, motor coordination and executive function in play-based activities. The physiotherapist can provide small group intervention sessions focused on targeted skill development embedded within everyday routines and play based activities.

How this is delivered

Educator or family coaching can be provided in a group or workshop setting incorporating 1-2 visits per term of 60-120 minutes. Delivered by a physiotherapist as an external facilitator, in collaboration with educators. Small groups interventions can include 2-5 children with sessions of 45-60 minutes, weekly for 6-8 weeks depending on intervention focus. Delivered by the physiotherapist within familiar learning environment, in collaboration with educators. Ongoing support provided through collaborative reviews. These reviews could be monthly or bimonthly drop in check or via telehealth for 30 minutes.

Cost

Cost per hour of allied health support is $250.00 per hour charged in 15-minute increments of $62.50. Travel is charged as a sum of time spent travelling @$250.00 per hour charged in 15-minute increments of $62.50 plus ATO rate per k

Play Partners, based in Clare SA, is a multi-disciplinary allied health private practice supporting children, families and young adults with disability. Play Partners delivers speech pathology, occupational therapy and physiotherapy services at their centre in Clare and to outreach locations in the mid North of South Australia. Play Partners has a certified CPS (Collaborative Proactive Solutions) provider and utilises a team of allied health assistants to improve rural service delivery.
