Description

Our Occupational Therapy services aim to build the capacity of educators and families to strengthen children’s development across the AEDC domains of Social Competence, Language and Cognitive Skills, and Communication Skills and General Knowledge. These services are designed to deliver meaningful improvements in early learning settings and to reduce developmental vulnerabilities by promoting inclusive, participation focused environments that support children’s engagement, regulation, motor development, play and daily functional skills.

Specific outcomes or goals are collaboratively developed with each service when designing a support package, and the cycle of work includes goal setting, implementation and review of outcomes. Support may be delivered face-to-face or online, at a frequency that meets the service’s needs.

  • Improved participation, regulation and engagement, enabling children to engage confidently in play, learning, self-care routines and peer interactions
  • Greater educator confidence in embedding strategies within everyday routines to enhance learning opportunities
  • Increased educator knowledge to identify and respond to environmental barriers and enablers, supporting inclusive practice
  • Enhanced family confidence in supporting child development, supporting continuity between environments

How this is delivered

Support may be delivered face-to-face or online, at a frequency that meets the service’s needs. An individualised package of support is designed based on identified priorities, to ensure responsive delivery of services and to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.
