Description

Connect Allied Health works in partnership with your ECEC service to identify areas of developmental need and deliver tailored, embedded support for children, educators, and families within everyday early learning environments.

Our experienced occupational therapists support children to develop fine and gross motor skills, coordination, Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), safety awareness, and sensory and emotional regulation skills through small focus groups. We work alongside educators to build confidence and capability in embedding evidence-informed strategies into everyday play and learning routines. We also partner with families by providing tailored information and practical strategies to support development at home.

Support is adapted to each service, helping create consistent, sustainable, and inclusive learning environments.

Key components include:
  • Supporting educators to understand and implement strategies that promote fine and gross motor development, physical independence, and emotional regulation.
  • Collaborating with educators to support diverse learning needs through inclusive and evidence-informed occupational therapy practices.
  • Supporting families to implement strategies that promote motor skill development, independence in daily routines, and regulation skills at home.
  • Delivering small group sessions targeting fine and gross motor skills, coordination, sensory and emotional regulation, and ADLs.

  • Improve fine and gross motor skills, coordination, safety awareness, and emotional and sensory regulation.
  • Increase participation in play and learning, supporting independence and school readiness.
  • Improve educator capacity to embed strategies that support physical health, wellbeing, and emotional regulation in everyday practice.
  • Improve family understanding of physical health and emotional regulation, and confidence to model and teach regulation strategies.

How this is delivered

Group-based sessions, educator coaching, and family workshops are each 2 hours in duration. The frequency and number of sessions are flexible and determined in partnership with the ECEC service (e.g., weekly, fortnightly, monthly, termly, or as required), and will influence the overall cost.

Group-based sessions typically include 3–8 children, educator coaching supports 10+ educators, and family workshops support 10+ family members, or as agreed based on the needs of the ECEC service. Delivery can occur face-to-face (in Adelaide and the Riverland) or via Telehealth, depending on service requirements.

Cost

Group-based sessions, educator coaching, and family workshops are delivered at $195 per hour and are 2 hours in duration. A one-off 1-hour preparation fee may apply to develop tailored materials for the ECEC service ($195 per hour). A 1-hour fee at $195 may also apply to review progress as required. Travel is charged at $125 per hour, plus kilometre reimbursement calculated from the nearest Connect Allied Health clinic (Modbury, Norwood, or Berri) to the ECEC service, as applicable.
