Description

Our Occupational Therapy service supports children’s participation, regulation and independence through educator coaching, mentoring and group?based support with children, with a focus on embedding effective strategies within everyday early childhood routines. Supports are designed to support all children, with the needs of autistic children considered.

For children, outcomes include increased engagement in group routines and structured activities, improved shared play and cooperative participation, reduced distress?based behaviours through strengthened regulation and co?regulation supports, and greater independence during transitions, mealtimes and daily care routines.

For educators, outcomes include increased confidence and consistency in applying therapy strategies, stronger understanding of neurodiversity (particularly sensory processing, regulation and functional skills), improved responses to challenging behaviours, and enhanced skills in adapting environments to support inclusive participation.

For families, the service supports improved collaboration with educators, increased confidence in supporting their child’s regulation and independence, and greater consistency across home and early learning settings.
