Description
Using a collaborative approach, Paizo may provide:
- Educator upskilling: through meaningful learning opportunities particularly around physical development, health and wellbeing with a focus on motor skill development. Building capacity, knowledge and confidence to support children’s physical health, sense of wellbeing and support them to thrive in everyday life.
- Group child support: through delivering fun, play-based and engaging group sessions. These sessions would involve age-appropriate games and exercises/activities promoting group participation and social interaction as well as developing motor skills, balance and coordination.
- Family and caregiver workshops: Building capacity of families and caregivers to support their child’s physical health and wellbeing. Through delivering group educational workshops/sessions on physical readiness for the preschool day, physical independence and motor skill development.
- Leadership and mentoring: strategic coaching for leadership to embed change and reduce developmental vulnerabilities. Supporting identification of the centre’s needs and ways to promote physical health and wellbeing in everyday practice through the environment, staff and everyday activities.
Expected outcomes for this support:
- Children: Improve physical readiness for the preschool day, gross and fine motor skills, balance, coordination, and physical independence. Build on social skills and engagement in play and learning.
- Families: Increase capacity to support their child’s physical health and wellbeing at home and at preschool.
- Educators: Empowering staff to embed evidence-informed practices in their daily interactions to reduce developmental vulnerability.
