Description

This program provides comprehensive, evidence-informed language support designed to strengthen children’s communication skills within everyday learning environments. It builds the capacity of educators and caregivers to confidently support language development using practical, embedded strategies across routines, play, and structured learning.

Support is tailored to the needs of each service and cohort, with a strong focus on translating evidence into meaningful, sustainable practice. Sessions include educator coaching, modelling, collaborative problem-solving, and guided reflection. The program targets expressive and receptive language while also supporting social interaction, emotional understanding, participation, and early literacy.

Ongoing follow-up ensures strategies are consistently applied and refined over time, promoting lasting change. The approach values strong partnerships with educators and families to create responsive, language-rich environments.

Key components include:
  • Individualised, service context-driven planning.
  • Coaching and modelling within everyday routines.
  • Ongoing guidance and reflection.
  • Collaboration with educators and caregivers.

This is a holistic approach supporting communication, social, emotional, and academic development.

Expected outcomes for this program are:
  • Improved educator confidence in supporting language development.
  • Improved ability to embed communication strategies across daily routines.
  • Improved child communication, social interaction, and participation.
  • Improved inclusive practices supporting diverse learning and developmental needs.

How this is delivered

This program is delivered flexibly to align with the needs of each service, using a combination of in-person and hybrid (online) formats. Two delivery options are available: an 8-week or a 16-week program.

The 8-week option includes 4 x 2-hour group sessions delivered fortnightly, followed by 2-3 individual coaching sessions per educator. Each coaching session is billed at the standard hourly rate, with any associated preparation and follow-up also billed accordingly. The 16-week option includes 8 x 2-hour group training sessions delivered fortnightly. Sessions are facilitated with small groups of educators (up to 5 per group) and focus on practical strategy implementation, modelling, and collaborative discussion. Each session also includes additional preparation and follow-up time to ensure content is tailored and embedded effectively.

In addition to group sessions, each educator receives individual coaching sessions across the program (typically 4–6 in the 16-week model) to support personalised application, reflection, and skill development within their own context.

Ongoing communication, resources, and feedback are provided between sessions to support consistency and practice change. Program coordination, liaison with staff, and alignment with the service’s routines are embedded throughout.

The structure, frequency, and mode of delivery may be adapted to suit service needs, ensuring a sustainable and responsive approach.

Cost

All services are billed at $250 per hour (incl. travel). Total cost reflects hours for group sessions, coaching, preparation, follow-up, and admin. The minimum option is an 8-week program with 4 x 2-hour sessions (fortnightly) plus 2–3 coaching sessions per educator. e.g. For 8-week program: *4 x 2-hour group sessions = 8 hours* *4 educators x 3 coaching sessions (30 mins each) = 6 hours* *Follow-up/tailored prep 2 hour per week across 8 weeks = 16 hours* *Total = 30 hours* *Total cost = $7,500*
