Description

Language and Communication

Educators will explore the foundations of language development and its impact on communication, learning, and social interaction. Facilitators will share practical strategies to support both expressive and receptive language skills, helping educators create rich, language-focused environments that foster confident communicators in the preschool years.

Key objectives:
  • Understand language milestones and communication needs.
  • Apply strategies for expressive and receptive language.
  • Create language-rich classroom environments.
  • Support social interaction through communication.


Educators will leave equipped to nurture confident communicators, ensuring every child has the tools to connect, learn, and thrive.

Improved:
  • understanding of language and communication development in early childhood
  • ability to implement strategies to promote language development
  • integration of play-based learning to enhance communication and play skills
  • ability to implement strategies to support literacy and/or numeracy development
  • language and communication skills, including verbal, non-verbal, and listening skills
  • engagement with learning, including attention and focus
  • interest in and development of basic literacy and/or numeracy skills and
  • general knowledge and understanding of the world
