Description

Living Free Occupational Therapy (LFOT) supports children, families, and educators to feel confident, capable, and included in everyday life. Using a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach, LFOT promotes inclusive learning and holistic support across home, school, and community settings.

LFOT offers flexible support through group sessions, educator coaching, and family workshops.

Group-Based Sessions are tailored to children’s needs and interests, focusing on areas such as social skills, imaginative play, motor development, early cognitive skills, sensory processing, and emotional regulation. Sessions are play-based and designed to build confidence and participation.

Educator Coaching works alongside educators to support understanding and response to behaviour, developmental differences, and sensory needs. Practical strategies are embedded into daily routines to create inclusive, supportive learning environments.

Family Workshops provide practical, easy-to-use strategies for home. Topics may include emotional regulation, sensory processing, and daily living skills, supporting families to feel more confident in meeting their child’s needs.

LFOT is committed to collaborative, meaningful support that builds capacity and helps children thrive.

  • Strengthened capacity to implement strategies that support and promote physical independence in everyday activities.
  • Enhanced ability to model, guide, and teach emotional regulation strategies in a responsive and supportive way.
  • Improved implementation of targeted strategies to support the development of social skills and meaningful peer interactions.
  • Increased capacity to support diverse needs through inclusive, flexible, and strengths-based practices.

How this is delivered

Occupational Therapy services are tailored to meet the unique needs of the Early Childhood Education Centre, as well as the children, families, and broader community it supports. The structure of support - including the number of sessions, duration, and frequency - will be determined collaboratively to ensure it aligns with the service’s priorities, context, and community values.

The Senior Occupational Therapist will work in partnership with educators to identify areas of need and determine the most effective and meaningful approach. This may include options such as one-off staff training, development of practical resources, educator coaching, or interactive programs embedded within daily routines, with a focus on building capacity, fostering inclusion, and supporting connection within the local community.

Cost

$230 an hour - if travel is required this will be negotiated and determined by location.
