Description

Novita Psychologists work alongside you and families to build children’s confidence, connection, and emotional literacy. Services are tailored to early childhood contexts, and include:
  • small group programs (such as early social advocacy skills, friendship foundations and emotional literacy)
  • educator training workshops
  • individualised educator coaching
  • parent education sessions and
  • the provision of practical resources for use across home and preschool settings.

Programs, training and workshops are tailored to identified priorities, with a primary focus on the Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) domains of Emotional Maturity and Social Competence. Supports are practical, strengths-based, and aligned with what matters most in your setting.

Our approach is grounded in evidence-informed frameworks, including child development and attachment theories, interpersonal neurobiology, trauma-informed practice, family systems and ecological models, strengths-based practice, and SCERTS.

We aim to empower you, engage families, and create environments where children can thrive socially and emotionally. Expected outcomes are:
  • Increased understanding of children’s development, emotions, behaviours and needs
  • Increased confidence in identifying and responding to children’s needs
  • Increased embedding of strategies into daily routines
  • Increased reflective practice by families and educators and
  • Increased ability to identify children with developmental vulnerabilities.

How this is delivered

Novita Psychologists work collaboratively with each early childhood setting to understand the context and needs of individual sites. The delivery of Psychology supports (including the number of sessions, duration and frequency) can be tailored depending on the preferences and needs identified through a collaborative process. Supports are delivered by Novita Psychologists, with a focus on building capacity of the key systems around the children (e.g., families, educators) through workshops, provision of resources and ongoing coaching opportunities.

Cost

Additional groups may be run on the same day at the same site at reduced cost by negotiation.
