Description

The Fundamentals of Play program will help you to understand play more deeply and how your approach will support children’s development. This program will explore the inner workings of play and how play is a universal language children use to explore their world. The program will explore dispositions, schemas, developmental milestones, play cycle, temperament, play stages and types of play. After you complete the program, you will have a new understanding of the children you are working with and how they are developing through play. This program is perfect for those who are seeking a refresher or new knowledge about play and how it aligns to children’s development. Expected outcomes for this program are:
  • improved understanding of play and connections between the learning environment and play
  • improved ability to implement strategies to support communication through play and children’s connections
  • improved integration of play based learning to enhance communication and social connections
  • improved ability to implement strategies to support social skill development and identify opportunities to enhance children’s learning.
