Description

The Hourglass Time Programming Approach is designed to give you the skills and knowledge essential for promoting children's developmental outcomes. Through a combination of training sessions and a resource guidebook, you will develop the skills to implement outcome-based programming that is responsive to children’s needs, allowing for deeper engagement in learning concepts without rushing. Hourglass Time Education aims to deliver a cycle which will help you see the value in learning and documentation. They have created a programming approach where you can be supported to capture children’s learning and your own thinking to enhance children’s learning, development and wellbeing. Expected outcomes for this program are:
  • Educators: Improved connections between learning opportunities and the environment.
  • Educators: Improved ability to capture children’s learning, development and wellbeing aligned to the Early Years Learning Framework and enhance the learning through effective planning.
  • Educators: Improved ability to implement a cycle of planning which is meaningful, engages families and fosters learning opportunities for groups and individuals.
  • Children: Improved engagement with learning due to the intentionality of educators and the environment.

About the organisation

Hourglass Time Education based in South Australia, is an Early Childhood Consultancy founded in 2018. Michelle Walsh and her team have been elevating quality across the sector and providing inspiring opportunities for professional development. With a very experienced team across Adelaide, Victoria and Mount Gambier, we empower educators and leaders through tailored training, coaching, and leadership programs. Our expert guidance enhances practice and strengthens operations through mock assessments, compliance audits, and strategic partnerships. Our passion lies in developing innovative approaches to early childhood education such as PowerQIPing, engaging leaders and teams, and embedding professional practice. We work with approved providers, service leaders and educators to ensure their service is operating in the best way for the whole community and that everyone has the tools they need to support children. Children are our ‘why’ and early education and care is our ‘how’.
