Description

The Kudos Mealtime Support Program focuses on creating positive, structured mealtime experiences that promote healthy eating, social skills and independence. It encourages children to try various foods, develop fine motor skills through self-feeding and use utensils. This program will allow you to facilitate positive peer conversations, model good table manners and ensure inclusivity by accommodating individual dietary needs, such as allergies or cultural preferences. The program also provides families with resources to reinforce healthy habits at home. Mealtimes are designed as social occasions, fostering communication, responsibility and cooperation among children. You can help children make meal choices, serve appropriate portions and clean up afterward. Expected outcomes for this program are:
  • improved healthy eating habits
  • improved independence skills (activities of daily living)
  • improved ability to engage in routines
  • improved awareness of health and safety.

How this is delivered

This program is delivered primarily in-person daily, during mealtimes, aligning with the regular mealtime schedule of the setting. The frequency of delivery would generally follow the daily meal routine, ensuring children have opportunity to engage with the program multiple times a day—usually during lunch and snack times. The duration of each mealtime support session depends on the age group and the setting but typically lasts 20-30 minutes per meal. This allows time for children to eat, socialise and practice important skills like self-feeding, communication and table manners. For children with special dietary needs, additional support or modified mealtimes may be provided as required.

Cost

The standard program (including both child and educator specific sessions) is delivered from $438.75 per session or $4,787.50 per program. If travel is required, the following zones apply: Metro: No cost within 50kms of CBD Beyond 50kms of CBD: cost by negotiation Country visits may be bundled with flights, car hire and/or accommodation.
