Description

Through inclusive, neurodiversity affirming, and evidence-informed approaches SPOT Paediatrics will work closely with educators to strengthen knowledge and skill and provide useful tools and strategies to embed in daily teaching. We will work collaboratively to support the unique needs of the individual centres we work with. This might include small group programs, parent information sessions, and educator coaching. We aim to help embed practical strategies into everyday teaching, routines, and interactions in a way that complements existing, play-based, teacher-led programs supporting children to develop confidence, wellbeing, communication, independence and connection in their play, routines and everyday interactions. Expected outcomes for this support are:
  • Improved communication and language skills – by nurturing speech, language, cognitive and early literacy skills through play-based small group activities, caregiver information sessions and educator coaching
  • Improved emotional wellbeing – with simple, practical strategies that help children grow awareness of their emotions, and support educators to feel confident implementing evidence-informed strategies to support regulation and resilience
  • Increased independence through movement and play – by strengthening motor skills so children can participate fully and feel confident in their routines, play and self-care
  • Empowering families and educators – through tailored support, information sessions and coaching, resources, and supporting connection with community services
