Description

Playful Pedagogies is an in-person workshop that will support you in delivering nature play at your service. The program features a combination of presentations, hands-on workshops and reflections, with input from our Cultural Advisor, Kauwanu Tamaru, Kaurna/Narungga Elder (and/or other Aboriginal educators). Supporting resources for further reflection and guidance are also provided. Expected outcomes for this program are:
  • improved understanding of emotional development in early childhood
  • improved ability to adapt environments to promote active play
  • improved ability to implement strategies to support social skill development
  • improved integration of play based learning to enhance communication.

How this is delivered

The one-day program is delivered in-person at Nature Play SA in Wittunga Botanic Gardens, featuring a combination of presentations, workshops and reflections. Sessions are supported by Aboriginal facilitators. Please note: Playful Nature Pedagogies sessions are limited throughout the year. Current dates are 17 and 19 March, and 13 May 2026

The program is delivered for $375 per person (including catering).

Nature Play SA, based in Blackwood SA, supports communities to strengthen their wellbeing and connection with nature through evidence-based outdoor learning, play and conservation. Over the past decade they have mentored educators and worked with thousands of students, families, and learning providers to improve wellbeing and childhood development.
