Description

Play to Thrive has been developed alongside content from Nature Play SA’s specialised programs and professional development programs. This self-paced program will address all AEDC domains, with a central focus on emotional maturity through child wellbeing, autonomy, and inclusivity. The program consists of 2 stages:
  • Stage 1 (4 modules): explores foundations of nature play, unpacks perceived barriers, discusses forming a nature play pedagogy, and assesses “risk”.
  • Stage 2 (4 modules): extends foundational knowledge through practical documentation of learning, understanding the link between brain development and nature play, upholding children’s voices, and nurturing resiliency and emotional wellbeing.
Expected outcomes for this program are:
  • improved understanding of emotional development in early childhood
  • improved understanding of social skill development in early childhood
  • improved integration of play based learning to enhance communication
  • improved connections between learning opportunities and the environment.
