Description

The Abecedarian Approach Australia (3a) complements play-based, teacher-led preschool programs by providing a framework for intentional teaching within child-led experiences. The program emphasises language-rich environments and meaningful adult-child interactions, supporting children's cognitive, language, social, and emotional development. You will be trained to use 3a strategies during regular activities, enhancing the quality of interactions without disrupting established routines. Families are engaged through simple, adaptable strategies they can use at home, ensuring consistency across early education and home learning environments. Expected outcomes for this program are:
  • understanding of language and communication development in early childhood
  • ability to implement strategies for promoting language development
  • integration of play based learning to enhance communication
  • ability to implement strategies for promoting literacy and/or numeracy development.
