Description

This program offers a flexible and comprehensive approach to delivering trauma responsive practice training for organisations and their staff. It is structured around six mandatory learning sessions to ensure that knowledge is embedded into daily practice. The learning sessions build staff capability in:
  • Understanding the neurobiology of trauma and its impact on wellbeing.
  • Exploring the effects of trauma on relationships, behaviour, and development across service contexts.
  • Recognising the importance of safe, attuned relationships in responding to trauma and creating inclusive organisational environments.
We support up to eight organisations per year through this program. Expected outcomes include:
  • Enhanced understanding of emotional development and regulation.
  • Increased staff capacity to regulate their own emotions under stress.
  • Ability to model and teach emotional regulation strategies to clients and colleagues.

How this is delivered

Training is delivered flexibly across 6 × 2-hour mandatory modules, which can be scheduled to suit organisational needs:
  • Full-day (6.5 hours, 3 modules)
  • Single module (2 hours, 1 module)
Coaching and reflective practice workshops are optional, but highly recommended to maximise the effectiveness of the program. A minimum of two visits per term is suggested. In-person delivery is preferred, however live-online options are available for regional and remote organisations to reduce travel costs. Content is customised to reflect organisational priorities, workforce learning needs, and service delivery environments.
