Description

The Social and Emotional Language program is designed to provide you with a foundation for understanding children's emotions, emotional regulation, and social competencies. The workshop covers resources, tools, modelling behaviour, and various strategies that can help you effectively promote and support social and emotional learning. The program includes 1 Big Book for your service, as well as a toolkit containing 3 finger puppets and 3 picture books (including Little Book Press titles) to enhance your learning and implementation. These resources are seamlessly integrated into the workshop delivery, equipping you with tools to incorporate into your planning and curriculum, while also offering valuable assets to share with families after the session. Expected outcomes for this program are:
  • gain a deeper understanding of the neuroscience behind social and emotional development
  • discover key aspects of social and emotional development, and gain practical tips to guide executive functioning, self-regulation, resilience, and social competencies
  • gain practical strategies to use and maintain your connections with children as well as use language and literacy to support the development of social and emotional skills.
