Description

This support provides allied health practitioners that work across early childhood education and care settings, providing trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate care. With a strong focus on child development, attachment, and family-centred support, this support ensures that all interventions align with best practices in early childhood health and wellbeing. Our allied health practitioners are experienced in supporting children with developmental delays, communication challenges, sensory processing difficulties, and social-emotional regulation needs. They can provide staff training, and collaborative care planning to support you and families in fostering optimal child development outcomes. We collaborate closely with you, providing mentoring and professional development to help you implement attachment-based and trauma-informed strategies. This includes co-regulation techniques, sensory-based regulation activities, and structured planning for school transitions. The systemic family therapy model also supports caregivers in strengthening a child’s developmental environment at home and in preschool settings. Expected outcomes for this support are:
  • Improved emotional regulation and coping skills in children, supported through trauma-informed, attachment-based strategies such as co-regulation and sensory regulation activities
  • Educators demonstrate increased understanding of emotional development, including how to model, scaffold, and teach emotional regulation strategies in early childhood settings
  • Enhanced educator capacity to manage emotional conflict and support resilience through consistent, developmentally appropriate behaviour strategies
  • Families gain confidence in supporting children’s emotional development, including strategies to strengthen attachment and co-regulation in the home
