On 2 June the Premier Peter Malinauskas and the Minister for Education, Training and Skills Hon. Lucy Hood MP announced that over 40 new Flying Start partners will be delivering 3-year-old preschool from July this year and an additional 140 from January 2027.

We’re so excited to have you as part of this once-in-a-generation reform supporting more children to have a flying start in life!

About the e-bulletin

This fortnightly email contains important updates, key dates and news you need to help your service deliver the Flying Start 3-year-old preschool.

Keep an eye out for it in your inbox every other Wednesday.

Other ways to stay up to date

We also send a regular newsletter to the sector that covers recent news from the Office for Early Childhood Development (OECD), a word from our Chief Executive and other important updates.

Local Teams

Our Local Teams are your first point of contact and are here to support you and help you prepare to deliver 3-year-old preschool. Working in partnership with you, Local Teams can help you understand partner service requirement and opportunities, supporting stronger outcomes for children.

Your service should have received your Flying Start announcement packs over the last week. These included:

  • A3 launch posters
  • Metal plaque
  • Magnet

If you haven’t received your materials yet, please contact your Local Team or oecd.communications@sa.gov.au

Separate to these packs, you will also receive a vinyl banner for display outside. We recommend putting this in a prominent place to share that you’re a Flying Start partner.

As we continue the roll-out of 3-year-old preschool across South Australia, we want to help you share this exciting news with your families and community.

We’ve developed a communications toolkit featuring a range of promotional resources you can use, including suggestions of articles for newsletters or posts you can share via your own social media channels.
