Description

Gross Motor Skills

Educators will explore strategies to support the development of gross motor skills and facilitative physical environments in diverse learners. Practical, evidence-based approaches will empower educators to create inclusive environments that promote physical movement and coordination.

Key objectives:

  • Understand the importance of gross motor skills in early childhood development and inclusive education.
  • Identify appropriate activities and tools to enhance balance, strength, and coordination.
  • Integrate gross motor skill development into everyday routines and play.
  • Foster participation, confidence, and physical well-being for all children.

Educators will leave confident in implementing gross motor activities that ensure every child can move, play, and participate meaningfully in their learning environment.

On the Move!

A developmental group with sessions targeting the facilitation of gross and fine motor skills through an evidence-based lens of play, wonder and exploration. Learn to move, create and grow in a small group setting with concurrent education for caregivers and support staff in real time and “off” the floor.

Expected outcomes are improved:

  • understanding of physical development milestones
  • ability to support gross and fine motor development
