Gross Motor SkillsEducators will explore strategies to support the development of gross motor skills and facilitative physical environments in diverse learners. Practical, evidence-based approaches will empower educators to create inclusive environments that promote physical movement and coordination.Key objectives:

  • Understand the importance of gross motor skills in early childhood development and inclusive education.
  • Identify appropriate activities and tools to enhance balance, strength, and coordination.
  • Integrate gross motor skill development into everyday routines and play.
  • Foster participation, confidence, and physical well-being for all children.

Educators will leave confident in implementing gross motor activities that ensure every child can move, play, and participate meaningfully in their learning environment.On the Move!A developmental group with sessions targeting the facilitation of gross and fine motor skills through an evidence-based lens of play, wonder and exploration. Learn to move, create and grow in a small group setting with concurrent education for caregivers and support staff in real time and “off” the floor.Improved:

  • understanding of physical development milestones
  • ability to support gross and fine motor development
  • ability to implement strategies that encourage physical independence and
  • ability to adapt environments to promote active play.
