Description
This support provides high-quality support to foster children's growth in social, emotional, and physical development areas. Qualified and experienced allied health professionals promote key developmental skills through engaging, research-backed activities. Developmental Educators (DEs) are multi-disciplinary disability specialists with expertise in fostering the skills, independence and quality of life of children. DEs have a practical approach and work holistically to address issues which may affect the function, independence and social inclusion of children. Physiotherapists use their expert knowledge of child development, anatomy and movement analysis to focus on improving gross motor skills, postural control, strengthening, and quality of movement for children.
Expected outcomes for this support are:
- Physical health and wellbeing in children is supported through the development of fine and gross motor skills, coordination, and independence in daily activities, while families benefit from routines that promote physical independence.
- Emotional maturity in children is enhanced through improved understanding of their own emotions, as well as the ability to co-regulate, self-regulate, and develop resilience and coping strategies.
- Social competence in children grows through the development of social interaction skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships, and engagement in play, learning, and daily routines.
- Independence is fostered across all domains, supporting children's confidence and ability to function effectively within their environments.
