Description
Your Best Self Allied Health's Preschool Program is a flexibly-designed service to provide in-classroom supports to children to improve their emotional, social, behavioural, sensory and motor skills. Our program takes a small-groups approach, delivering tailored and structured activities to several children in group settings to work on specific areas as agreed upon by the Preschool service. As a flexible service, we can target skill development across multiple areas as deemed fit by the preschools we service, and can provide services to multiple groups of children. Our small-groups approach allows preschools to engage our services in a minimally disruptive manner. Our Preschool Program targets the following outcomes:
- Development of children’s emotional and sensory regulation skills and strategies to assist with regulation.
- Development of children’s social skills through group activities, working to improve children’s cooperative play and social communication skills.
- Fine and gross motor skill development, with a focus on classroom-specific fine motor skills and gross motor skills essential for age-appropriate play and social participation.
Expected outcomes of this support include:
- Improved ability of children to understand and self-regulate their emotions.
- Improved ability of children to build and maintain relationships with others.
- Improved ability for children to engage in routines, play and learning.
- Improvement in classroom-specific fine motor skills & age-appropriate gross motor skills.
