Description
Time 2 Talk can provide speech pathology support within your early childhood setting, embedding strategies into everyday routines to enhance communication, inclusion, and school readiness. We work collaboratively with educators and families to identify and respond to children’s needs. Our services are delivered across two tiers:
- Tier 1 (universal): whole-service practices to build educator capability and create language-rich, inclusive environments, with practical strategies to increase engagement and participation.
- Tier 2 (targeted): small group programs for children needing additional support in language, speech sounds, early literacy and social communication. These groups are seamlessly embedded within play-based learning, with speech pathologists leading sessions while supporting educators to build confidence and skills
Educator upskilling is delivered through workshops, in-room coaching, and collaborative planning. This hands-on approach builds sustainable skills to support communication across daily routines. We also support children who are non-speaking or have emerging verbal skills, including those who use or may benefit from Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), such as visual supports, communication boards, or speech-generating devices.Families are actively engaged as partners, with resources and opportunities to support their child’s development across home and educational contexts.Find out more: www.time2talk.net.au
Expected outcomes for these programs are:
- improved language, speech, play, early literacy and social communication in children
- improved understanding of language and communication development in early childhood for educators and families
- improved understanding for educators and families to support the implementation of strategies to promote language and communication development
- improved connections between learning opportunities and the child's environment
How this is delivered
Group Support (Child)Our small group programs are delivered within your existing play-based routines, enhancing learning without disruption. Led by our speech pathologists and supported by your educators, groups of 4–6 children allow for highly responsive support. Sessions run for 45–60 minutes over 6–8 weeks (flexible to your schedule) and use engaging, play-focused approaches. Multiple groups can run across a day, maximising outcomes for children while naturally building educator skills.Educator UpskillingWe build educator confidence through in-the-moment modelling, coaching, and reflection. Ongoing professional learning is tailored to your centre and is delivered face-to-face or online, covering practical strategies to support communication, early literacy, social communication, AAC (e.g. visuals and communication devices), and inclusive, neuro-affirming practices. Our focus is on sustainable strategies that fit within your daily activities and routines.Family SupportWe actively engage families as partners, providing take-home resources, practical strategies, and opportunities to discuss their child’s development. Where needed, we support families to connect with local services and community supports, strengthening and supporting parents’ capacity at home and in the community.
