Description

Our specialised speech pathology service provides neurodiversity-affirming, play-based speech pathology support for preschool children within their early learning environment. We work collaboratively with educators and families to support communication, language, speech sound development, social connection, emotional wellbeing, and participation in everyday preschool activities. Supports are tailored to the needs of each service and may include small group sessions, educator coaching, and family workshops. Our approach is strengths-based, relationship-focused, and embedded within children's natural routines and interests.Educators will develop stronger capability in scaffolding peer interactions, supporting emotional expression, and adapting environments to meet communication needs, leading to increase in engagement in play and group learning, smoother transitions, and more positive peer relationships.

Expected outcomes: ECEC services can expect

  • improved confidence in supporting children’s communication and social interaction
  • communication-rich and inclusive classrooms and
  • increased use of proactive, language-based supports.
