Description
The occupational therapist can provide educator or parent coaching in fine motor skill, self-care and play skill development, social-emotional development and sensory regulation supporting readiness for school. Coaching can be provided as group education sessions or workshops with ongoing check in supports on request. The occupational therapist can provide small group intervention sessions focused on targeted skill developmentImproved embedded within everyday routines and play based activities.

How this is delivered
Educator or family coaching can be provided in a group or workshop setting incorporating 1–2 visits per term of 60-120 minutes. Delivered by an occupational therapist as an external facilitator, in collaboration with educators. Small groups interventions can include 2–5 children with sessions of 45-60 minutes, weekly for 6–8 weeks depending on intervention focus. Delivered by the occupational therapist within familiar learning environment, in collaboration with educators. Ongoing support provided through collaborative reviews. These reviews could be monthly or bimonthly drop in check or via telehealth for 30 minutes.
Cost
Cost per hour of allied health support is $250.00 per hour charged in 15-minute increments of $62.50. Travel is charged as a sum of time spent travelling @$250.00 per hour charged in 15-minute increments of $62.50 plus ATO rate per km.
