Description
Connecting Speech Pathology is an experienced, locally based speech pathology service with strong connections to early learning services, families and communities. We deliver early communication support with a focus on capacity-building within preschool settings, embedding communication-supportive strategies into everyday routines. We work collaboratively with educators and families to create environments that support children’s participation, confidence and development.We offer coaching in supporting communication development within everyday routines and play-based learning to strengthen educator capacity, embed practical and sustainable strategies that reduce developmental vulnerability and support inclusive preschool environments.We offer evidence informed, small group-based support for young children with a focus on supporting communication development – children’s ability to express themselves and make themselves understood, understand and connect with others, and participate in activities and peer interactions.We offer family workshops and preventative strategies that promote communication development and social participation.Find out more: https://connectingspeechpathology.com.au/preschool-boost-for-early-childhood-servicesGoals and

How this is delivered
Service delivery is flexible and responsive to the needs and context of each ECEC setting and is delivered by the speech pathologist as an external facilitator, with a strong focus on educator upskilling and collaborative implementation.Group child support:
- Small group sizes of approximately 3–5 children
- Weekly sessions delivered in short blocks
- Session duration of approximately 30–45 minutes
- Activities tailored to group needs, focusing on communication development, interaction and participation
- Co-delivery with educators where possible
Educator upskilling and implementation support:
- In-room coaching and modelling during everyday routines and play
- Support for different adult learning styles
- Ongoing support delivered in person or virtually
- Provision of practical strategies, guidelines and resources
- Optional refresher sessions or follow-up consultations
Cost
Direct (eg. coaching, group intervention) and indirect clinical supports (eg. reporting, resource creation, implementation support) are delivered at $190 per hour. Where travel is required, labour and non-labour costs will be charged to or from the ECEC setting. Where possible travel costs will be apportioned between ECEC settings in the same region. Travel costs will be specified in advance in writing. Short notice cancellation fees apply. All costs listed are GST exclusive.
