Connect Allied Health works in partnership with your ECEC service to identify areas of developmental need and deliver tailored, embedded support for children, educators, and families within everyday early learning environments.Our experienced speech pathologists support children to develop speech, language (expressive and receptive), social interaction, and imaginative play skills through small focus groups. We work alongside educators to build confidence and capability in embedding communication-supportive, evidence-informed strategies into everyday play and learning routines. We also partner with families by providing tailored information and practical strategies to support communication practices and social skill development at home.Support is adapted to each service, helping create consistent, sustainable, and inclusive learning environments.Key components include:

• Support educators to understand and implement strategies that promote speech and language (expressive and receptive), social interaction, imaginative play, and social skills.
• Collaborate with educators to support diverse learning needs through inclusive and communication-supportive practices.
• Support families to implement strategies that promote communication and social skill development at home.
• Deliver small group sessions targeting speech, language (expressive and receptive), social interaction, and imaginative play skills.

Expected outcomes:

• Increase participation in routines, play, and learning, supporting independence and school readiness.
• Improve educator capacity to embed communication-supportive strategies within everyday practice and support diverse learning needs.
• Improve family understanding of communication development and confidence using practical, consistent strategies.

Group-based sessions, educator coaching, and family workshops are each 2 hours in duration. The frequency and number of sessions are flexible and determined in partnership with the ECEC service (e.g., weekly, fortnightly, monthly, termly, or as required), and will influence the overall cost.Group-based sessions typically include 3–8 children, educator coaching supports 10+ educators, and family workshops support 10+ family members, or as agreed based on the needs of the ECEC service. Delivery can occur face-to-face (in Adelaide and the Riverland) or via Telehealth, depending on service requirements.

Group-based sessions, educator coaching, and family workshops are delivered at $195 per hour and are 2 hours in duration. A one-off 1-hour preparation fee may apply to develop tailored materials for the ECEC service ($195 per hour). A 1-hour fee at $195 may also apply to review progress as required. Travel is charged at $125 per hour, plus kilometre reimbursement calculated from the nearest Connect Allied Health clinic (Modbury, Norwood, or Berri) to the ECEC service, as applicable.
