Description
Our occupational therapy service provides neurodiversity-affirming, play-based occupational therapy support within children's natural learning environments. We partner with educators and families to support children's participation in everyday preschool routines, including play, self-care, social interactions, learning, and transitions.
Our occupational therapists support children with a wide range of developmental needs, including sensory processing differences, emotional regulation, fine and gross motor development, executive functioning, self-care skills, attention, and school readiness. We take a strengths-based approach that celebrates each child's unique profile and works collaboratively to reduce barriers to participation rather than expecting children to fit a particular mould.
Supports are tailored to the needs of each preschool and may include whole-class programs, small group sessions, educator coaching, environmental reviews, screenings for small group suitability, and family workshops. Strategies are embedded into everyday routines so children can practise skills in meaningful contexts alongside the people who know them best. The program targets core developmental areas including sensory regulation, gross and fine motor skills, coordination, and independence in daily tasks. Children are supported to develop awareness of their body states, improve their ability to regulate emotions and attention, and build confidence in physical and social participation.
A key component of the program is educator coaching. Educators are supported to understand the sensory and motor factors underlying behaviour and are equipped with practical, easy-to-implement strategies to create more inclusive, regulation-informed environments. This builds long-term capacity within the service and supports sustainable outcomes beyond the program duration.
Families are also supported through shared language and practical strategies, promoting consistency between home and preschool environments.

How this is delivered
Our service is intentionally flexible and can be adapted to the unique needs, goals, and budget of each preschool or early childhood service. We can provide:
- Several-hour visits for targeted workshops, room observations, developmental screenings, environmental reviews, or small group programs.
- Half-day visits to combine direct work with children alongside educator coaching and collaborative planning.
- Full-day visits where our Occupational Therapist becomes part of the preschool environment for the day, supporting children within routines such as transitions, group time, outdoor play, mealtimes, and self-care activities.
- Short-term partnerships over several weeks or half a term, allowing strategies to be embedded, trialled, and refined over time.
- Term-long partnerships, where we attend regularly across a full term to provide sustained support, monitor progress, and build lasting educator capacity.
- Educator workshops and professional development on topics such as sensory processing, emotional regulation, executive functioning, motor skills, neurodiversity-affirming practice, environmental modifications, and supporting participation.
- Whole-class and small group programs that use play-based activities to foster self-regulation, motor development, social participation, and school readiness.
- Family workshops and parent information sessions to support participation, regulation, sensory needs, and independence beyond the preschool setting.
- Consultation and coaching to help educators embed strategies into everyday routines and create inclusive environments that support all children.
Whether you are looking for a one-off professional development session, an Occupational Therapist onsite for a full day, or an ongoing partnership across half or a full term, we work collaboratively with your team to create a program that is practical, sustainable, and meaningful for your preschool community. Our aim is to help children feel safe, capabl
