This professional learning package includes a collection of ECA online learning courses and bespoke content designed to support educators in building knowledge and contemporary practices to help very young children understand, name and manage their emotions and begin self-regulating their behaviour. The package provides illustrations of practice and contemporary, research-informed approaches, applicable to different contexts and cohorts of children. The package promotes professional engagement and critical reflection to build educator capability, efficacy and confidence, and improve children’s outcomes.

This package includes:

Supporting children’s self-regulation: birth to three years—presented by Andrea Nolan and Karen Bonson (Online course)

Supporting children’s self-regulation ages 3–5 years - presented by Dr Kate Williams (Online course)

An insight into autism spectrum disorder in the early years (2-part series) - presented by Autism Queensland (Online course)

Emotion coaching: A transformational tool - presented by Beth Macgregor (Online course)

Expected outcomes:

• Understanding self-regulation,  educator’s role in early emotional and behavioural development and educator strategies supporting learning, wellbeing, relationships, play and curriculum.
• Understanding autism, developmental differences and inclusive, proactive behaviour support strategies.
• Learning emotion coaching techniques to support emotional awareness, self-regulation, problem solving and positive behaviour.
• Facilitated session to unpack core practice topics.

Option 1: 12 months (Package + Face-to-Face Workshops)

Includes 12 months access to online learning plus optional drop-in live sessions. Participants attend a half-day face-to-face workshop held 2–3 times per year in SA CBD, offering opportunities for discussion, shared learning and networking across diverse settings. Workshops support sustained engagement, reflection and the ability to revisit and extend learning over time.

Note: Workshops require minimum numbers. If cancelled, participants retain online access and may be offered an alternative date where possible.

Option 2: Self-paced (Package + Online Workshops)

Flexible self-paced learning with a 1-hour online workshop offered twice per year. Sessions provide structured opportunities to deepen understanding, share practice examples and engage in professional dialogue with educators and experts. Participants can choose from scheduled sessions, supporting ongoing reflection, connection and application of learning in practice.

Option 3: Organisation (Package + Communities of Practice)

For services (8–25 participants larger groups on request), this option includes a facilitated in-service Community of Practice. It supports collaborative reflection on play-based learning through action research, shared dialogue and curated resources. Participants explore practice in their own context to strengthen pedagogy, improve outcomes and support ongoing professional growth.

This program is delivered across three options:

Option 1 (Package + Face-to-Face Workshop) - $590 per person (max 50 per session)

Option 2 (Package + Online Workshop) - $296 per person (max 50 per session)

Option 3 (Package + Communities of Practice) - $3,408 in service session (max 25 per session)

No allocation for travel, car hire and/or accommodation has been allowed for. All costs listed are GST exclusive.
