Leading Communication and Learning is a leadership coaching program that supports Educational Leaders, Nominated Supervisors and educators to strengthen planning, reflective practice and pedagogical decision-making.

Through a series of facilitated coaching conversations, participants are supported to build on existing strengths, deepen professional knowledge and apply new learning within their own service context. The program focuses on strengthening leadership practices that support communication-rich learning environments, professional dialogue, intentional teaching and high-quality interactions with children.

Participants are supported to develop greater confidence in leading conversations about teaching and learning, aligning team practices and creating shared approaches that support children's communication, language development and knowledge-building.

Delivered through sustained coaching and mentoring, the program supports leaders to strengthen educator capability, build shared pedagogical language and create greater coherence across the service.

Expected outcomes for this program are:

• Increased confidence and capability of Educational Leaders and Directors to support communication, language development and knowledge-building.
• Strengthened capacity to lead reflective conversations that help educators recognise, respond to and extend children's thinking.
• Increased educator confidence in creating communication-rich learning environments and meaningful opportunities for conversation and shared thinking.

The program is delivered through a structured sequence of 8 leadership coaching sessions, each 1 hour in duration, for Educational Leaders, Nominated Supervisors and leadership teams.

Sessions are facilitated live and scheduled at a rhythm of two to three sessions per term, providing time for reflection and practice of ideas between sessions.

Each session may include:

• A leadership provocation connected to communication, language and learning.
• Coaching dialogue tailored to the leadership role, service context and current priorities.
• Reflective tools and prompts to support leadership thinking and decision-making.
• Agreed actions to trial between sessions and revisit in subsequent coaching conversations.
• Opportunities to discuss planning processes, professional dialogue, routines, learning environments and examples from practice.

The program is designed for leadership teams of up to four participants per service. Where a service wishes to include additional leaders, an additional program package may be required.

The program is delivered online and can also be facilitated face-to-face for early childhood services across metropolitan, regional and rural South Australia.

Face-to-face delivery is subject to additional fees and travel charges.

The full program is delivered for $2,000 per service (GST exclusive) and includes 8 x 1-hour online coaching sessions. Customisation is available, including face-to-face, hybrid delivery, additional coaching sessions, extended sessions or tailored resources. Additional online coaching is available at $250 per hour. Service support visits are available at $1,650 per full day. Travel, accommodation and associated costs may apply for face-to-face delivery. All prices are GST exclusive.
