The Inclusive Spaces in Early Learning Program supports ECEC services to create environments that are accessible, predictable and responsive to all children, with a focus on autistic learners. Delivered by allied health professionals, the program combines environmental assessment, educator training and implementation support.

The program includes a structured audit of physical, sensory, social and communication environments using evidence‐based frameworks such as Universal Design for Learning. Services receive tailored recommendations to reduce barriers, strengthen participation, and support regulation and engagement.

Educator training and coaching build confidence in creating sensory‐aware, communication‐friendly environments aligned with play‐based, teacher‐led learning. Ongoing implementation support ensures changes are practical, sustainable and embedded across the whole service.

The program aims to improve participation, wellbeing and learning outcomes by creating inclusive environments where all children can engage in meaningful learning.

Key components include:

The Inclusive Spaces in Early Learning Program is delivered by allied health professionals as a structured package combining assessment, training and implementation support.

The program begins with an initial consultation and environmental assessment (approximately 3 hours), including observation of indoor and outdoor spaces, routines and educator practices. Key areas include sensory environment, physical layout, communication supports and accessibility.

Following the assessment, a tailored report is developed outlining strengths, priorities and practical recommendations. Training (approximately 3 hours) is then delivered to educators, either in person or online, focusing on inclusive, sensory‐aware and communication‐friendly practices aligned to play‐based learning.

Implementation support (approximately 3 hours) is provided flexibly through coaching, modelling and problem‐solving sessions to embed changes into everyday routines. Delivery can be adapted to each service’s context and schedule to ensure sustainable, whole‐service impact.

The initial consultation (up to 3 hours) ranges from $380 to $1,140.

Training and implementation support ranges from $1,140 to $3,420 depending on the support needs of the service.

If travel is required, this will be charged based on location: $50 for 0-30 minutes from our closest office, $100 for 31-60 minutes from our closest office and $200 for 61-120 minutes from our closest office.
