The Early Years Education Program (EYEPTM) is Kids First Australia’s licensed, evidence-based program designed to strengthen children’s developmental outcomes by building educator capability and supporting families. Delivered over 12 months, EYEPTM combines relational pedagogy, trauma-informed practice, educator coaching, reflective practice, family engagement, and professional learning to embed sustainable, trauma-informed practice into the culture and everyday work of early childhood services.

EYEPTM is more than a training program. It is a whole-service implementation model tailored to the unique needs of each community, ensuring educators, children and families receive support that reflects their context rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Educators are supported through a comprehensive Learning Management System with an integrated evaluation framework, alongside online and face-to-face training, coaching, structured reflective practice, professional development and practical implementation tools.

The Early Years Education Program (EYEPTM) is delivered over approximately 12 months to support sustainable practice change in early childhood services.

Program delivery:

12-module training program supported by coaching, webinars, resources, on-site observation, reflective practice, and a Learning Management System with evaluation tools.

Implementation approach:

Begins with a Learner Needs Analysis across 13 trauma-informed domains aligned to six EYEPTM principles, establishing baseline capability and identifying strengths and development areas.

Tailored planning:

Findings inform a service-specific implementation plan responsive to educators, children, families, and community needs, with flexibility for staffing and operational changes.

Ongoing support:

Educators receive online training plus approx. 24 hours of facilitator support through coaching, in-room observation, and reflective practice to embed learning into daily practice.

Tools and resources:

EYEPTM Framework, Self-Assessment Rubric, Reflective Practice Framework, and Reflective Practice App support reflection, supervision, QIPs, and continuous improvement.

Together, EYEPTM embeds trauma-informed, relationship-based practice into everyday service delivery, strengthening child safety, educator capability, and outcomes for children’s learning, development, and school readiness.

Program Investment: $25,200 (ex GST) for a comprehensive EYEP implementation package for up to 12 educators. Includes implementation support, 12 professional learning modules, coaching, reflective practice, observations, evaluation, reporting, individual and centre feedback, and access to EYEP tools and resources. Pricing includes preparation, resource localisation, tailored implementation, and travel for in-person visits within 50kms of the CBD. Outside the CBD additional costs may apply.
