Description
Move Learn Grow is an evidenced-based, uniquely structured, easy to follow and sequenced movement program. It develops fundamental movement, locomotor, body management, and object control skills, alongside motor planning, physical literacy, sensory and primitive reflex integration, and group social learning through playful activity stations.
The program includes educator support and a complete 42-session curriculum, with each session featuring six movement activities, a fine motor task, and reflex integration with deep breathing to finish. Activities are suitable for groups or individuals.
Educators receive comprehensive guidelines and support resources for both teaching and family engagement. The program aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework, with embedded numeracy and literacy throughout.
Designed by an Occupational Therapist and a Health and Physical Education Lecturer, Move Learn Grow supports school readiness by addressing developmental gaps.
The online platform and printable resources help educators create engaging, purposeful movement experiences that build strong foundational physical skills in children.
The program strengthens the foundational Physical motor skills that AEDC identifies as essential for school readiness, including:
- physical and social independence
- coordination and balance
- fine and gross motor control and
- ability to participate in structured and unstructured play.
How this is delivered
MLG e-Program is a resource that is easy for an educator to use, view, and implement within their context and learning space. It is designed for children.
The program is delivered to your email address as a viewable program with downloadable support materials, including:
- 42-week program: Each week includes six structured movement activities focusing on reflexes, balance, vestibular and sensory input, strength and postural control, and motor skills. The final station focuses on speed and agility with a literacy and numeracy focus.
- The program also provides separate fine motor tasks and reflex exercises, all clearly organised. Every activity station is supported by glossy images, resources, and clear explanations.
- Educator resources: Includes ready-to-download PDF lesson plans, visual posters, staff and family handouts, and a comprehensive Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) guideline tool.
Training and support:
- After receiving the e-Program, educators may visit the program in action and chat with the Directors or view video support materials.
- A 1–2-hour educator training session on MLG practices includes sensory processing, primitive reflexes, social learning, FMS pedagogy, and EYLF alignment.
- Implementation support: 12 months of email and phone guidance, including check-ins.
- Additional consultation visits can be requested at an additional cost.
- Educators may choose to be supported via online, or phone, providing access for both local and rural communities.
