Description

Animals in Action is a preschool-based program that provides educator training and implementation support so early childhood educators can deliver a structured communication and participation program within their own classrooms.

The program includes a series of 12 interactive animal eBooks, original music and movement experiences designed to strengthen children’s communication, engagement, regulation and participation during everyday preschool routines.

Educators receive professional learning, classroom modelling, guided practice and follow-up support from My Therapy House so they can confidently implement the program within circle time, shared reading, transitions and movement experiences.

Animals in Action supports reduced developmental vulnerability primarily within the AEDC Communication Skills and General Knowledge domain, with secondary benefits for Language and Cognitive Skills, Social Competence, Emotional Maturity and Physical Health and Wellbeing.

Our program integrates established speech pathology, music therapy, occupational therapy and early childhood education principles into a structured preschool model grounded in contemporary research and a clear, evidence-based theory of change.

Expected outcomes of this program:

  • Improved language and communication skills for children.
  • Improved engagement with learning for children.
  • Improved ability to implement strategies for promoting language development for educators.
  • Improved ability to implement strategies to support articulation (speech sound production) for educators.
