Description
The Outside the Box Learning Nature Connection Series strengthens children's social competence through shared experiences in nature while modelling practical, nature-based approaches that educators can continue throughout the year.
Delivered across four seasonal visits (Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring), each facilitated session engages children in hands-on experiences that explore seasonal weather patterns and ways to play, create and learn using nature and sustainable materials. Through sensory play, storytelling, growing, planting and shared discovery, children are encouraged to communicate, collaborate, take turns, solve problems and work towards shared goals while developing meaningful relationships with others, the natural world and the places around them.
The program supports and complements teacher-led preschool programs by providing educators with practical language, ideas and strategies they can immediately apply in their own settings. Each visit builds on the previous one, creating a year-long thread of nature connection, sustainability and social learning that becomes embedded in everyday practice.
Seasonal companion resources and practical guidance provided after each visit help educators confidently extend children's learning between sessions, adding depth, rigour and intention to nature-based learning throughout the year.

The structure of each visit can be adapted to suit the needs of your service, followed by access to a professional learning session for educators.
Professional learning can be delivered face-to-face, live online or as a pre-recorded session, providing flexibility for educators.
Learning focuses on sensory play, nature-based experiences and seasonal discovery that foster social competence, collaboration and sustainability.
