Description
The Early Years pOTential Program holistically supports preschoolers across the AEDC domains, improving their foundational skills. Separate Educator and Parent/Caregiver upskilling can be delivered in 1 or 2 hour presentations.
Our program provides children the best opportunity to be available for learning, regulated, and socially connected by developing their skills and supporting those around them. These outcomes reduce the gaps in development prior to starting school, regardless of what exposure each child has had prior to coming into the education system.
The program has 12 modules, aiming for 8-10 modules to be delivered once a week over a term. Each module is designed for a small group of 5-6 children and requires 30-45 minutes to implement. This can be modified to suit the needs of the service partner, and activities can be graded up or down, to meet the skill level of the children participating.
Activities within the modules detail learning through play via games and tasks, focusing on supporting the development of gross motor skills, fine motor skills, social skills, and emotional regulation with an occupational therapy lens, to ensure meaningful engagement.

How this is delivered
Initial Assessment: Conducted by our qualified OT to collaborate and identify the specific requirements of the service partner. This can be completed online or in person.
Regular Sessions: Our program can be delivered in a group setting of up to 6 children per group, in 30-45 minute sessions delivered in person. We recommend weekly sessions over a term, however, we will happily work to the requirements and needs of the service partner. Session can be delivered by our OTs, or Allied Health Assistant (as available).
Educator Upskilling: Educator coaching ensures that educators are upskilled so they can link the connective tissue between developmental milestones and how specific activities support children reaching AECD domains prior to entering the school system. Coaching will grow understanding of why each activity is important to development, such as, creating regulating opportunities prior to starting an activity to ensure engagement.
Parent/caregiver Workshops: Education to ensure a holistic approach and continuity for children in all facets of their daily living, by ensuring the adults in their lives have the same knowledge and skills to support their development.
Educator and Parent/Caregiver upskilling can be delivered in 1 or 2 hour presentations, to be flexible.
