Description
Calm, Connected, Capable is a program for educators and parents who are seeking to build children’s emotional maturity and social competence.
Across 12 weeks, participants from your site receive a series of 10 interactive online workshops, which are available live and for replay. An optional site visit brings the program directly to your space.
This program focuses on building a relationship with your community of parents and educators, with personal support from a Senior Occupational Therapist throughout the program. Questions and conversations are welcomed, with the OT supporting you to apply the content to real-life scenarios, and the children in your world.
Some of the topics include:
- child development
- self-regulation for children, and adults who support them
- sensory processing
- emotions
- boundaries and behaviour
- play
- neurodiversity-affirming social connections for all children and
- transitions, attention and participation.
Support hours may be used flexibly by the site for consulting about AEDC domains, support to leadership, adapting your space, and reviewing policies and procedures.
Expected outcomes for educators and parents:
- improved understanding of self-regulation (sensory, emotional, attentional and behavioural development)
- improved understanding of neurodiversity-affirming social competence
- confidence in applying clear support strategies and
- supports are embedded into the everyday home, family and early childhood environments.
How this is delivered
The Calm, Connected, Capable educator and parent programs include:
- a 12 week online program
- facilitation by a Senior Occupational Therapist
- live, interactive workshops, available for replay
- flexible coaching support
- Q&A forums, guided discussions, and weekly reflections
- downloadable resources and certificate of completion and
- optional site visit to apply learning in real contexts.
Cost
Parent Program
15hr service = $3000
($200 per hour)
Educator Program
20hr service = $4000
($200 per hour)
Both Parent and Educator Programs
35hr service = $6800
(Approximately $194 per hour)
Optional Site Visit
$225 for a 60min one-off visit on site
