Do you know someone interested in exploring a career in early childhood education?

The free Flying Start Pathways Program Pre-certificate ‘taster’ course is a supported, short introduction to the early childhood sector.  It will help participants to discover if a career in early childhood is right for them, while building confidence and preparing them for further study, should they choose to pursue a formally recognised qualification as a teacher or educator.

Course dates: 17 March – 9 April 2026 Southern suburbs.

Info session: 3 March 20261–2pm | Christie Downs Community House, Cnr Flaxmill & Morton Rd, Christie Downs SA 5164.

Community Children’s Centres SA will begin delivering free child health development checks across the Murray and Mallee, Fleurieu–Kangaroo Island, and Outback – North and East regions and Sonder will service families in Gawler–Two Wells and the Yorke Peninsula.

This will support the work of the state’s leading provider, Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS), alongside our other partner providers, including Nunkuwarrin Yunti and Kornar Winmil Yunti Aboriginal Corporation.

CaFHS will also now be offering mobile clinic services through a Child Health and Development Community Van. Staffed by specially trained nurses and midwives, the van will initially visit Enfield and surrounding suburbs, with potential future expansion to rural and regional areas.

We encourage our preschool partners to support families to book checks for their children aged 3 and 4 years. These free milestone checks are key to tracking growth, celebrating milestones and assisting in connecting children and families to any needed supports.

For information on how to book an appointment, visit our Child Health and Development Checks webpage. Families can also download the Early Years SA App to assist with appointment reminders and to access trusted developmental resources.
