Description
Hey Little Warrior! is a structured, evidence-informed educator upskilling program for early childhood settings. Based on the bestselling children's books Hey Warrior and Hey Awesome, it equips educators with neuroscience-grounded strategies to support children aged 3–6 in understanding anxiety, calming big feelings, and building brave behaviour and emotional resilience.
The program comprises four sequenced components: a face-to-face workshop, the Hey Warrior children's book, a structured 11-topic lesson plan for embedding strategies into everyday play-based routines, and a follow-up coaching session supporting classroom implementation.
This program is aimed to help you to:
- understand the neuroscience of anxiety and big feelings in young children
- embed calming and brave-behaviour strategies into daily routines and play
- use the Hey Warrior book and lesson plan as an ongoing classroom resource and
- sustain implementation through structured follow-up coaching.
Expected outcomes for this program are:
- improved understanding of the neuroscience of anxiety and emotional development in early childhood
- improved ability to model and teach emotional regulation and calming strategies
- improved ability to embed brave-behaviour and co-regulation strategies into everyday play-based practice and
- improved ability to support diverse needs and engage families through shared brain-literacy language.
